Toast to Summer

at Philadelphia Distilling, 25 E. Allen St.

 Wednesday, June 28th

                                     

 

Hosted by WRA Young Leaders Co-Chairs, Suzanne Ciavola Newman and Caitlin Cavanagh, this festive Toast to Summer is a chance to meet WRA's Board members and connect with young leaders in water and water related sectors.  Jessica Hartley with Vicinity Energy will kick off the event with an insider's view of WRA, and Vicinity's sustainable approach for heating and cooling.

Jessica Hartley serves on WRA's Board of Directors.  She is the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Manager for Vicinity Energy Philadelphia and Trenton.  She has worked for the company for 10 years in safety and environmental compliance, and more recently, on sustainability efforts both internally and in partnership with other environmental and community groups. Prior to working at Vicinity, Jessica worked as a Water Quality Specialist and Emergency Response Team Member for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Southeast Regional Office. Ms Hartley studied Environmental Science and Political Science at Albright College and received a master’s degree from St. Joseph’s University in Environmental Protection. 

She lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two children, and enjoys hiking, canoeing, skiing, traveling (in non-COVID times), and just generally being outdoors.

 

 

Caitlin Cavanagh Co-Chairs WRA's Young Leaders, She is a project engineer with experience in green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) design and site civil design/inspection for a variety of energy, environment, transportation, and facilities projects throughout the mid-Atlantic. She has engaged in large and small-scale projects requiring stormwater modeling, site grading, and erosion control designs for both public and private clients. She is a highly-motivated and success-driven member of any team.

Ms. Cavanagh has a passion for Sustainability as well as Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work. She has held positions within AECOM as a local ED&I Champion in Philadelphia as well as Vice President of the Women's Employee Resource Group in the Americas. She works both inside and outside of AECOM to uplift women's voices and promote intersectionality.

 

Suzanne Ciavola, P.E., has been a WRA Board member since 2017 and is a Co-Chair of WRA’s Young Leaders Committee. She is a senior project manager at Mott MacDonald, working as designer and manager on green and traditional stormwater projects in the Philadelphia region. She is licensed in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts and is also a LEED Green Associate as well as an Envision Sustainability Professional.
